Malaho is a mini 4 episode series featuring my animations and graphics, with a 4 song ep created by IONGAF. Malaho is a made up word defined as ‘a state of eternal happiness.’ It is a form of escapism.

Malaho began as a playful twist on mahalo, reimagined to express ‘an eternal state of happiness.’ With only that guiding idea, the logo development leaned into a playful summer theme that exuded overt happiness. The form was inspired by the ebb and flow of ocean waves, reflecting the natural highs and lows of life and the calm acceptance that comes with them. Inspired by American Tiki culture aesthetics, the logo is reminiscent of something you would see on Hawaiian fruit punch.

Malaho was paired with a 4 song EP performed and produced by Keegan Konsor and Louis Phoenix. Tied to a four-episode show, the album explores fleeting moments of happiness and the inevitability of returning to everyday life, reflected by the moon and the sun. I was heavily inspired by a postcard/stamp theme, envisioning that someone was writing from a Malaho state to the listener.
