To me, animation is a careful balance between movement, timing, and momentum. For this story, I found that through the musical score. The sound came first, and from there, I built a world around it—imagining how Deshea and the Bobo Bag would move within it. For example, while listening to the musical score for the first time, I noticed that the producer had added an abrupt stop to the radio. This inspired the entire plot. I envisioned a hungry Bobo Bag devouring the radio. From there, the sounds began to shape themselves. Sounds of a chugging train became the Bobo Bag tearing through the walls of the cabin, transforming everyday noises into storytelling elements. The hyperbolic sounds went hand in hand with the exaggerated absurdity of the early animation style.
